To say I enjoy selling is an understatement. My first sales job back in 1992 involved calling over 200 companies every day and using a tightly scripted sales pitch to sell to Managing Directors of businesses large and small. Of course there were no computers then. All of our contracts were typed up (on a typewriter!), faxed over, signed and faxed back to secure the deal. And my client database was 200 A4 sheets of paper EVERY DAY maintained in ring binders. My Sunday evenings were spent writing 1000 telephone numbers from Yellow Pages to call for the week.

Things may be different now, but the principles remain the same. Call more companies, speak to more decision makers and make more sales. However not every organisation has the time, resources, time, thick skin, skills or time to make those calls. Did I mention you might find it hard to squeeze in the time for 100 sales calls a day as well as running your business?
